Episode 16
16 - State Senator Pugh on Budget Transparency & Civics Education
In this episode, Emily and James visit with OK State Senator Adam Pugh (R-Edmond, OK) regarding the important steps the legislature has taken this session to improve transparency around the creation of the state budget - and what still needs to be done. He also discusses the importance of civics education and his efforts to promote it.
Along the way, we discover how the TV show "Family Ties" helped turn Sen. Pugh into a Ronald Reagan Fan, that the Senator is not afraid of a push-up challenge with students, and how we can use data to ensure the state's new school choice program will give families real information to make the best educational choice for their children.
